H-D Riders Edge New Rider Course – Life starts at the Edge
DDS GMSP, MSF Basic RiderCourse (BRC)
The Riders Edge New Rider Course follows the proven curriculum of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Basic Rider Course, tailored for beginning riders or those returning to the sport.
WHAT STONE MOUNTAIN HARLEY-DAVIDSON PROVIDES
- The motorcycle, a 492 cc Buell Blast
- A full face helmet will be provided if you do not have your own
- Confirmation letter and information
- The student workbook and educational materials are sent to all registered participants with assignments to start your learning prior to the class start date.
- Water during the range sessions
- Refrigerator and a microwave for your lunch and drinks
- Large air-conditioned class room, with bathroom facilities.
WHAT YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BRING
- A DOT approved helmet (3/4 open face or full face) or a head covering if you are borrowing one of ours.
- Protective eye wear
- Long sleeve shirt and/or jacket
- Jeans, chaps or leather pants
- Full-fingered gloves (preferably leather)
- Over the ankle sturdy footwear ( athletic or tennis shows are not allowed)
THE SCHEDULE
Weekend is scheduled over four days, Thursday through Sunday, almost every weekend throughout the training season.
- Thursday 5:00pm - 8:00pm / classroom (starting in July this will change to 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and will be held at the Stone Mountain/Granite Mountain H-D Dealership, 900 Dogwood Drive, Conyers, GA 30012.)
- Friday 5:00pm – 8:00pm / Classroom at the Stone Mountain H-D Riders Edge building, located at 4405 Paxton Lane, Lilburn, GA 30047.
- Saturday and Sunday 8am – 6pm ( 7am-5pm during the summer months see schedule) Classroom/Range at the Stone Mountain Riders Edge Building 4405 Paxton Lane, Lilburn, GA 30047.
Weekday is scheduled over four days Monday through Thursday at least once a month.
· Monday 5:00pm – 9:30pm / classroom at the Stone Mountain H-D Riders Edge building, located at 4405 Paxton Lane, Lilburn, GA 30047.
· Tuesday and Wednesday 8am – 5 pm classroom/range at the Stone Mountain H-D Riders Edge Building.
· Thursday 8 am – 12pm classroom/range at the Stone Mountain H-D Riders Edge building.
Written and riding evaluations are administered the last day of class followed by a graduation ceremony.
BENEFITS
- You will receive approximately 26 hours in the classroom and on the range with expertly trained instructors.
- Registered students are extended a one time courtesy discount of 10% on in-stock only items excluding motorcycles.
- After successful completion of written and riding evaluations you will receive a completion card. Present this card to the DDS within 90 days to obtain your Georgia motorcycle operator endorsement. (M class) with no further testing required.
- GMSP and Stone Mountain Riders Edge memorabilia
- This card may quality you for a discount on your insurance.
- For US military personnel, it may fulfill your base safety requirements.
- Class size is kept to 9 students to two instructors to help your learning process.
INSTRUCTORS
All of our instructors are certified Rider Coaches and Georgia Motorcycle Safety Program. Instructors have received additional training from the Riders Edge Harley Davidson Academy
TUITION
Tuition for the course is 375.00 due within 5 working days of your reservation.
DEALER POLICY
We require a 72 hour cancellation notice, anything less will result in a complete loss of money. With a least 72 hours notice, we will refund all but a $50.00 Administrative Fee, returned to you in the same manner that you paid to us.
We require at least 72 hours notice if you need to move your class date. This gives us time to find someone for your spot. Less than 72 hours notice may result in loss of your money with no reschedule.
